Dubai has an indoor ski resort complete with a terrain park and bump runs. It may seem excessive, but not for the fastest expanding city in the world, and it is very possible that we will have to resort (no pun intended) to skiing inside in the future. The possibility of Morocco being a new skier's mecca is also very exciting for me, because the best part about skiing is going to new places and discovering new terrain.

Lessons to be learnt from ski slopes RESPONSE (#8)
I completely agree with the author of this article, in that these ski resort higher-ups show tremendous versatility. Not only does this give people a reason to go to the mountains in the summer, but the money that the resorts make in the off season can be put to good use applying snowmaking technology in the winter. I'm impressed that some resorts can use the snowpack that is withstood over the summer on the glaciers to attract skiers.
Lessons to be learnt from ski slopes (8th article)
This article is all about ski resorts and real estate developers, and what they have done to turn their resorts into year round attractions. "The Swiss Association of Winter Sports Resorts says the average Swiss ski season has shortened by 12 days since 1995 thanks to global warming". Many resorts have developed mountain bike tracks, golf courses, and other non seasonal activities. Valtournenche, near Turin even has summer glacier skiing available now.
It is predicted that in the coming years, Morocco will be a new destination for skiers, because the high altitude of the Oukaimeden Resort has "snow assured status". Because of these predictions, the resort is in the process of adding 2,000 more hotel rooms. It is also possible that more indoor places to ski like Dubai will be developed.
The article ends with the fact that these real estate developers are showing tremendous versatility in their efforts to save their resorts, and that any developers in other fields should look to ski resort employees for inspiration.
